projector headlights & HID bulbs
Saturday, April 19, 2008 10:33 PM
ok heres whats up, i am fairly new to actually modding anything on a car. ive helped my cousin with stuff for his truck, but it was just he would have me do this or that. ive never actually known what to do right, ill admit it. but i bought a pair of projector headlights with dual halos (ive seen them on the forum before), and i want some very very bright bulbs with a very white look. i was wondering if anyone knew what it was that i need to buy, im not concerned with price, just as long as i get the look that im going for.

thanks much

Since you already got the headlights. Get a 6k HID kit and you'll be set .

If you want a very white look you cannot beat a 4500 - 5000k kit..... provides the most usable white light....

those particular lights come with a halogen bulb... an H1 if i remember right....... the equivalent H1 HID bulb is bulkier and wont fit through the hole. I just used a dremel tool and ground out the hole untill it fit

pain in the ass really

If you have the same headlights as me do this.

As said simple dremel out the hole for the light

Unscrew the 4 small screws and clean out the projector area.

Buy an H3, 5100-5400k (with non OEM kits they'll mix numbers to look special) 6000K is also very white with an off tint of blue, it's you call both will be much better visibility than stockers

Get a relay harness, and never install a kit or high wattage halogen without one.

And remeber that all kits from 75$ to 300$ all come from china, dont focus on warrenties.. the kits WILL crap out after 3 years if you lucky they last that long and the company will change names, they do it all the time and have been for years.

Not knocking the guy above in any respect if he's ont he org and reliable and you feel comfortable go with him, just educating the OP that if it's not OEM, then it's your call on the gamble of the failure ratio, screwed up focal points on rebased bulbs, ect,.

Good luck, read that little crash course I put up to it will help you out.
