I start tonight on turn my stock hood into a cowl induction hood. The cowl will about 26 inches wide and 6 inches high. I measured and removed center strip of the of the hood skin. Tomorrow i going to start making the frame for the fiber glass mat to form to. I will post pictures soon.

fiberglass + metal = good luck

Why not just weld 6" high strips of sheet metal onto the hood and lay the section you cut out on top of it? Thats the way i would do it and you wouldnt have to worry about the fiberglass cracking or seperating from the hood.
