Yes you do....

Any kit made to fit your bulb style, or the bulb style you are going to (say for some projectors) will work....but you get what you pay for....the more you spend, the better/higher quality the parts are, and therefore more durable.

pick your socket type that matches your low beam ... you need a re-based HID bulb, 9005, 9006, 9007, whatever.
buy a relay/harness to power the ballast.. you can get 'em on ebay for $35, plugs into your headlights, relay goes to battery, and plug the ballast in the other end basically.
pick a ballast (any HID ballast should do)

little bit of wiring and thats it. now, other drivers on the road may not thank you but you'll have lots of light.
picking the right ballast is important, the better ones are more expensive of course. some (oem matsu@!#$a like the ones that come on the G35, 350Z, are already waterproofed) others won't be.

the 95-99 guys have a lot of aftermarket projectors available, they're probably made for halogen bulbs but it might be better than a reflector.

00'-up guys cavs and sunfires i think the only option (going all out) is to buy an aftermarket or OEM projector assembly and make your own.

i'm working on my own projector retrofit .. going with a bi-xenon setup .. its going to be a major pain in the ass but should be worth it in the end

Look for my HID crash course, all kits from 75-200 dollars are cheap chinnese knock offs THE END, there are no one better thant he other, some are just dressed diffrently.

If you want quality you going to need to go OEM, as for kits.. there a gamble no matter the price.
