Pre-heat oven to 250 F, turn oven off and put lights in for 5 minutes. Then just pry apart

Till the oven is at 250....about 5 mins or so....also....take everything off of the light that could melt. So rubber, bulb retainers, and other things that could melt.

That method didn't do jack squat for me... I even went as high as 500 degrees. The glue wasn't giving up... when prying with a flathead or scraper the housing was breaking away and the lense was staying firm.

I ended up using a heat gun and concentrating it on one area until it foamed up and bubbled and I could jam a screwdriver through it, and worked my way around. Keep in mind this destroys the lense.

Good luck.

Heat up the oven to 325(leave oven on while headlights are in) toss the headlights in there for 14 mins, take them out and start prying....... I've done it with a few sets of cav headlights and never had a problem

It doesnt destroy the lense. It will if your not patient enough and careful enough. Just dont go ape @!#$ on them when your working on them and you'll be fine.

Hey, well just started this tonight, have one haedlight seperated, will do the other in the morning, i primed the inside of the housing, now i am unsure if i should so the balcked out look, or color match kind of like how the fits and vettes are done.
Black, or color match, oh and i should mention i have a cf hood, not sure how it will look in either case.........
Any opinions would be appreciated, thanks
will post pics when finished

When i seperated the headlights, one worked out alot better then the other, one headlight i broke three pieces around the out side edge, the other headlight i broke thirteen pieces, lol the outer edge that is the black plastic is very, very weak.
I set the oven at 200 degrees and left the door open, had them in there off and on for about 20 minutes.
So i glued all the pieces back on and primed them, dont know yet how they will look but will post pics, its a spare set, so i ant too worried if they look like @!#$, will post pics tonight...

^^^^ because some people want headlight that are different; and they dont make aftermarket ones for sunfires, unless you get them custom made which cost alot, so why not seperate them and make them look a little darker, or what not...

^^^^ makes it easier beacuse the glue gets heatted up and makes it softer and easier to cut with a utility knife..
