My brake lights are stuck on when the brake isn't pressed or the car is off, they still are lit up! I need to know what i need to do to fix it. I bought a new part that is above the brake pedal, but it won't stay tight, keeps coming loose and making the lights stay on. Is there like a specific number of notches that the part has to go in to stay securely, or how do i get it to stay? The part is located inside the car, right above the brake pedal. THanks

nope it's a really weird part. i just put it in kept twisting the "nut" and it held after a few tries. just mess around w/ it. you'll get it

got it fixed. that plastic nut was wore out so that's why the brake/pedal switch wouldn't stay snug in there. thanks tho

thats happened to my cobalt twice. cheap GM brake switches.
