ALUMINUM GAS CAP COVER
Monday, September 15, 2008 4:27 PM
I WAS CONTACTED BY ANOTHER JBODY MEMBER AND HE RELOCATED HIS FILLER NECK TO THE UPPER TRUNK PANEL. I KNOW THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE ON HERE THAT HAVE DONE THAT. DOES ANYONE WANT A ALUMINUM COVER FOR THE CAS CAP? THIS WOULD ONLY FIT THE MODIFIED CAP (MISSING THE FINGER GRIP ON THE TOP). IT WOULD HAVE RELIEFS ON THE SIDE AND COULD BE EPOXIED ONTO THE CAP. WILL POST PICS WHEN COMPLETED! SOON

Phil's making this for me at my request, I've tested the mock one he's made out of plastic and made one small change. I can't to get the aluminum one, I'll post pics as soon as I have it my hand, and pics of it installed.

I have some of the pictures finally of the gas cap cover. They are made out of 6061 aluminum, and cost $65 plus shipping. Im sure Jim (rotten' banana) will be posting some installation pictures as soon as he installs it. These will only fit the modified gas cap, the ones with the top part cut off. Im also designing new underdrive crank pullies and overdrive alternator pullies for the 2.2 or 2200. I should have pricing and a prototype developed soon. They will be sold as sets and will be made out of 6061 aluminum as well. Please let me know if you have any other pieces you would like to have designed.

Thanks

well would you like a custom piece to fit your application?

clearance is actually my issues right now. I have a filler off of a boat right now but it does not look "stylish" I just didn't want to hack up the stock cap. I guess I could always beat the truck down some and go that route. I will check into it..

what would be nice (probably impossible) is a cap that be connect to the screwy part of the stock gas filler cap...you would have to fid a way to seperate the stock cap w/o breaking it and then screw on the aluminum cover. that wouldn't look too bad.

I am also out of post this month lol

well ask rotten' banana how to seperate the cap w/o breaking it, he gave it to me like that so i could model his cover. what your saying is exactly what this does, you just need to chop off the finger holder and epoxy this on the top of the cap
