ok as the title says i wanna mold my sides on and as well as the rear bumper , i have a full xenon body kit thats urethane. So what supplies do i need to do this right , and maybe a step by sanding process too.
thanks
no one can teach you step by step body work. to mold in urethane to metal, pick up either 3m or fusor. both make products for panel bonding all diferent types of material together. make sure you read it though and get the correct one.
also i have a set of carbon fiber fenders would that work to , and can i get 3m or fuzor at any auto store
I highly suggest not molding urethane to the car. I can 99% guarantee it will crack. Professional body guys have a hard time molding panels, so as a first timer with no experience, I would advise against it.
there's no way to teach someone how to do this process without doing it hands on, and it's still a very detailed process.
IF you still decide to do it, I would recommend using 3m panel bond 8115. You can only get this online or in an autobody product shop like Sherwin auto, or Keystone, or the like. You will also need an aplicator gun to use these type of products which runs over $100 just for the gun. This project will cost you ALOT of money, and ALOT of time.
How do you plan on flattening body panels once you start moulding? I very much suggest you spend the time and money elsewhere.
well whats a good double sided tape cause the stuff i used with a lil adheadision promoter sucked once the temp started to fall at night
did you use the white tape?
use the grey 3m tape with the red backing. make sure you clean the area well, and apply. if needed, use a hair dryer to heat it up a bit. never once had a problem with the 3 kits ive had
well guess what my hood flew up on the road the koi cav is out of commision
it wont work, panel bond might work, but what about the bumper, bondo does not stick to plastic, so it wont work
can i haz bondo

Certain kinds of filler does...
-Seth
not much only stuff i know of is like a skim cream to go over repaired surfaces which you have already used plastic repair on..., plastic is too flexible no filler is flexible to the extent fillers are...
and most body shop supply stores will lend you the gun.., my store does for 3-m and ashland (valvoline better then the rest
)
This is true. You can't go hog wild with the filler and expect it to work.
I used Evercoat Poly-Flex and although I didn't put a huge amount on, it was a little more than a skim coat and it held awesome.
But granted, I did use some 3M Automix on the deeper parts first.

3m is also a very good product. to use for repairing and such. im more familiar with the ashland product though as we push that more
do they even make xenon kit in fiberglass?
evercoat has 1 product that works on everything, metal, fiberglass, rigid plastic, smc, i dont like doing it no matter what is used it will crack, but i guess iam wrong dunno
can i haz bondo

DO IT!!! ..but then you'd have to get the fibglass pieces painted...
