Light options?
Sunday, October 19, 2008 2:34 AM
yesterday I had gone to the you pull it near me to look for a new bumber, (found one,z24) with it were the stock 97-(98?) foglights so I said yoink and took those and the foglight control switch (with dimmer) too..

I installed the fog lights (without painting the z24 bumper yet, thats for another day) on the frame but havent wired them yet seeing as I had several questions regaurding the wireing and some options im wondering about..

Ive searched the site and havent found anything to answere my questions (unless im just missing it due to lack of sleep past few days.)

(I already gathered I'll need a relay for this task)

my buddy made mention his brothers car just got fog lights and installed them..he mentioned how he had done certaon things with the lights..

1..how can I kill the dlrs?
2.. connect the fog lights to be used independantly via the on/off swith on dimmer plate
3..while being able to independantly run the fog lights run the normal low beam lights.
4...have the option to still turn fog lights on/off while foglights are on
5..have the high and low beams work/on at the same time
6.. have the option to really piss off the ocassional jackass who is in front of me, and have the option to turn on my highs, lows and fogs all at the same time..

???

hopegully im wording this/asking the right questions and am able to be understood with what im asking here..

thank you for any and all help I may receive..

Thanks for that link, I believe I did see that thread already but I guess when I looked I missed something and jumped the guy a little thinking i didnt find what I was looking for..

the wireing itself seems easy enough to do but im still gonna have friend do it since its a few things and well, he normally gets paid to do electrical work so im guessing he would understand what the heck he is doing better then I will..

I guess i'll find out tomarrow..lol

Thanks for the info.. I attempted to give it all a try lastnight but when I went to mount the foglights they sat to low in the holes of the z24 bumper and did not line up.. I guess when I got in the accident it pushed the impact bar down a bit... oh well, ill replace that sunday and try again...
