Removing Badges

Hey im kinda new to this and i was wondering what is the safest and easiest way to take the chevy and cavalier badge off the back of my trunk. I would like to take them off and also keep them in one piece just incase i decide to put them back on. I was also wondering once i take them off, how do i clean the spots to where you cant tell that they were there. Thank you.

This should help you on how to remove the badges.

As far as cleaning the areas afterward, a good wash and wax should do the job, unless the paint underneath is faded. Whether it's faded or not will depend on the age of the car.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

there are theads if you search the forum but to avoid the few seconds of me looking '

im pretty sure the cavalier badge (not bowtie) is held on the same way as the logo and side door gaurds, which is double sided tape, get yourself some goo gone... put some in the space between the badges and the body and leave it soak in a minute or two..

use thicker fishing line and pull it behind the badge kinda like flosssing.. once its off use some more goo gone to clean it up and your fingers to kinda rub at it.. once its off just clean the goo gone off..

you really dont need to heat the badge up with a heat gun... it just makes the job easier.

few tips:

quadruple up on the line, it snaps real easy
wear a good set of gloves, the fishing line digging into your hands sucks after a few swipes
soak the glue behind the badge with some 3M adhesive remover or glue remover of some kind.
