A few days ago I was visiting family in Allentown and I pulled up to a light with a honda in the turn lane next to me and it was obvious the person who owned it was doing a good amount of work on it,aside from body kit and paint the biggest mod i noticed was he deleted/shaved (?) his rear passenger windows.
it wasnt finished at the time i had seen it but it looked like he removed the glass and filled in the empty space with maybe sheet metal and body filler .I was wondering if anyone here has tried something like this on there own car or have seen it done
Im playing with the idea of doing this myself come summer time and was wondering if anyone had pictures ,i would have taken one of the honda but the light changed before i could get my phone.
If I do this Im gonna get the rear passenger seat side panels and glass the empty space where the window once was and angle the fiber glassed section to face the passengers better and install dvd consols for my duaghter and friends to keep them entertained on long trips.
I've seen it done on, i think it was a blazer, or something like a blazer. Our local PDR guy rebuilt it from a total but the glass was so expensive for the rear quarter glass that he said screw it and shaved um. Just used sheet metal but I'm not sure how he did it or what not. It turned out pretty cool.

Reminds me of the old school panel vans.
I think it would look cool, and I think that some of the cars in the banner at the top of the website might actually have them done too...

I have a few buddies who do all sorts of work on cars from years ranging from 40s to now, complete custom rebuilds or just a once and done chop top so they know body work, I think im gonna ask them if they mind me borrowing their garage for a weekend since they have a huge set up and all the tools i would need to get the job done..and while theyre hanging around they would want to jump in there and give a handm, with the two of them and myself im sure we could get it done in (just the window delete not fg) in a few hours tops..
id ask them now but they are in the middle of a total rebuild of a 43 chevy for the ones mom....
its been done before by mike (seamless) on his old cav
Car Domain Page
im not really a fan on it unless you can make it completely smooth.
if done withoutt the scoop and smooth it would look alright but imo that looks horrible

ya, i seen it in person, and it was definately different, but i thought it was hideous personally

Im thinking the same thing, smoot,no scoop just as seemless and flush as if it had never been there..
that doesnt look horrible though, just a bit off.imo

not if ya know how to use your sideveiws... I dont ever recall ever useing the rear sides for looking out of when driving.. but who knows, maybe someone does..
your side view mirrors dont pick up your blind spots especially while driving on the highway.

isnt that why they are made to be adjustible?
I mean how have people who own (to use an above example) panel vans managed this long?

If ya want to see this mod done a lot look at the current mustangs. They make kits to block off the quarter windows.
97 Cavalier 2.2 5-speed, 88 Camaro IROC-Z 5.7 auto, 91 Firebird Formula 5.7 auto, 88 Conquest TSi 2.6T 5 speed, 93 Silverado ECSB 5.7 auto, 83 Mazda RX-7
that green thing is HIDEOUS!!! I wouldn't be caught going to my own funeral in that POS!
semis have the biggest blindspots of all!
If you got it, a BIG truck brought it!
