removing Wing on 04

Well i know there is probly a way to remove the wing from my cavi with out just ripping it off , and just like every one else that has an 04 and wants some of the older tail light lights needs the rk sport trunk bezel but in stead im going to fab my own part for my trunk, but was just wondering if any one had any suggestions about how to go about removing it without haveing to tear it off.

My 04 Cavi

its better off to get a spoilerless trunk at the local junk yard cause the holes that will be left over from where the spoiler is bolted in.

Open the trunk, look under the lid, and unbolt, should fall right off.

But as stated you should get a trunk lid from a older Cavalier so you won't have any holes in it at all. That or replace with a 00-02 Z24 spoiler is always nice.

get a spoilerless trunk from any 95-02 cavalier... it will be much easier for you, and if you ever sell the car, you could put the old one back if you'd like.

Yea, there are 7(i believe) bolts/nuts under the trunklid that hold the spolier on. Remove them and pull, but it would be cheaper picking up an older trunk and have it painted. I got all my stuff(00-02 tails, 95-02 trunk, LS spolier, and painted) for $300. Paint and the spolier cost the most($250 combined). Here are two pics of my cav for an idea.

lol bondo over holes. let me know how it works.

bondo is a cheap cheap body filler and not a good one at that. if done right you would need very little body filler if you have someone welded the holes closed. adding any filler to fill in a hole will eventually crack and fall out over time do to the temp changes year round.

That's why I would suggest getting a different lid if possible. That's what I did for my cavy trunk swap, but mine only cost me $50 for EVERYTHING, trunklid, lights, latch ETC and it was the right color, mint condition. If you can get lucky and find a lid for cheap, it's probably the right way to go in the long run. Just my $.02

you would have been better off locating 95-02 trunk lid w/out spoiler and repainting.....Bondo is not going to hold dude....Be proactive and get it done right.
