This is an OLD PIC! but gives you an idea of the how the Toyo tails look on my car's paint color.
Some of the "CLEAR" on the factory Black trim of the toytos is peeling/chipping.
I was thinking of having the entire Lens wetsanded, then painting the Black Indigo Blue and then Clear Coating the entore lens.
Whatcha think? I only recall the 00+ Toyo tails being painted bodycolor. I know that it is a small area, but I think it would look good.
Any ideas? Opinions? How would you do it? What would you do different?
I think the small amount of color you could get on the 95-99 style, it would look more like a sloppy masking job instead of nice custom work.
I say just sand and re-clear, re-black if necessary.
BTW, my car is about the same color as yours (now), I have the same spoiler, and the 00 style toyos color matched. I can take some pics for reference if you want.

I have a couple on my phone....but they are BAD....real bad.
Not that my car on jack stands in my garage crammed in with parts for my truck is going to look all that good anyways, but you will get the idea.

I would say wet sand them and give them a REALLY light coat of nightshade to tint them, just to make them even more rare. As for body color.... i am not too sure i would say no, however IF you were to get the newer ones i would say definately to do the same as John Benham

We'll see how it goes once I go remove the tails from the car. It is in storage for the winter months, I'll get em smooth and see how I feel about it at that point.
haven't seen too many 95-99 color matched toyos (on a black car doesn't count). the 00-02 def look better color matched. w/ your clear corners and stock headlights, i think the 00-02 toyos would look better since they are more transparent than then 95-99's.
