Stock alarm headlight flash

Does anyone know how to disable the stock headlights from flashing when you lock or unlock the doors on a stock alarm / keyless? I am looking into getting HID's and I was told this flash will wear the HID hardware out faster. Any help? searching turned up nothing and I know there are lots running HID's and there has to be a solution.

Be sure you also disable your DRLs. DRLs will kill your HIDs real quick. As well as this flashing you've mentioned. The only way I know how to disable it is with the Tech2. Don't really think there is any other way because it is controlled by the BCM. That is how I did mine but I have access to one, most people don't other then dealerships. So call your local dealer and ask how much that would run to change the key fob outputs. Don't be freaked out if it ends up being near $100... I don't know why but its the dealership so you got to expect that. I think it took me 10min or less to do mine..(most of that was also disabling the DRLs with the Tech2 as well, dealership wont do that though)

DRLs are your HIGHBEAM lights set to a lower voltage. So how will it effect your HIDs when they are on a different circuit?????

Also, if you buy the HID kit with high beams included, they will work as they should. The HIDs will not even be turned on when the DRLs are on, matter of fact the Ballast does NOT even have the Highbeam wires coming or going to it.

I'm also thinking that the flash will be the same as the DRLs

James - Could you explain?

I am planning on doing the DRL disable because everything I have read on here says you need to do it. But I admit I am no good at wiring and rely on others for that knowledge.

I have DRL's disabled by grounding that blue wire and I still have the key fob flashing. I just got my HID's installed so I'd like to fix this.

The DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ARE YOUR HIGHBEAMS AT A LOW VOLTAGE, SO YOUR H.I.D.s will NOT be on unless you turn on the lights.

I'm pretty sure the light flash is the Same, I think it is the Highbeams flashing,

and just cause you disable your DRLs doesn't mean you'll disable the flash. When locking/unlocking the BCM tells the high beams to flash... When using DRLs the BCM tells the high beams to operate under lower voltage. Disabling DRLS just prevents the BCM from telling the high beams to operate under a lower voltage... it doesn't prevent the BCM from making the high breams to flash.

you can disable the flash with a relay. on your headlight plug you should have 3 wires you can cut the middle one in half and put 1 side of the cut wire to terminal 87, and the other side to 30. ground terminal 85, then get a fuse tap and tap into your wiper fuse for accessory power and run it to terminal 86.

Speedline02 - I know doing the DRL disable doesn't disable the flash. I think I got a hookup to use a Tech2 so I am going to go that route.

I had the same problem. Went to a Chevy dealer and they disabled the unlock flash with the GM Tech II.
They wanted around $100, but ended up getting it done for $25.

I also disabled the DRLs by grounding. Write up that I used:

The HID/ballast I use removed the flashing. I also did the DRL mod, but when I put the halogens, I get my flashing again.
