I had an extra stock one laying around. This is what I did, I measured from the bottom (where it screws on the car) up to get 10 inches and then cut it. Then put a piece of rag around the ball part that was cut in half. Then took my pliers and pulled and twisted till the little ball came off. Once you pull the ball off you can see the shape of the end on the antenna , then used my wheel grinder to shape the other part the same so the ball would fit over the top. Put a bit of glue or something I had to make sure the ball wasn't gonna come off. Used some steel wool and rubbed down the full antenna and then spray painted black and done. 10 inch stock looking antenna. Looks awsome.

If you've got an aftermarket deck, get one of these, then remove your aerial and do your body work/capping and such.

Problem solved!
