sup guys (and gals) i need some advice on how to repair my hoof and roof of hail damage (or golf balls, idk which) im thinking of filling them in with bondo and just filberglass of the top of them and sand it down till its even and smooth and prime it, but i also heard primer asorbs moister, so will that rust out my car before i have a chance to get it painted?
Take it to a body shop. The way you described is exactly what you are NOT suppose to do.
Tinkles
2003 Cavalier 1SV
Bagged and Blown
i dont have a ton of money tho, and body work is EXTREMALLY expensive

Pull the dents out until they are almost smooth then use bondo to smooth them out. Idk where you got using fiberglass but no, the different expansion rates will have the fiberglass cracking in no time. Primer does absorb moisture but not at a fast rate so you could get away with it for a while.
yea what cruisin leave the fiberglass step out
sorry im a dumbass, but i got 1 more question, should i buy the dint doctor thing to help get the dints out?
No. Take it to a shop.
If you want it to look better then take it to a shop otherwise it will just look worse.

You need a dent puller, most require you to crill a hole in the middle of the dent and then pull it out.
like nhirst said, take it to a shop if you can afford it, but if you cant, try it yourself, take your time and x2 on not using fiberglass over bondo.
Bondo is a filler, but not to fill huge dents, it is meant only to fill small imperfections...
jackson, ur dent puller sounds kinda like a slide hammer?
i think they are similar if not the same!
she works!
just be careful and take it slow
ummmm my advice it to take it to a shop, and using a dent puller requires to grind off the paint to bare metal, and use the stud gun on big piece of metal, have y ou ever used a stud gun?? worked with a deck lid before?? this metal warps like no other!! i have warped roofs and deck lids just with the heat from my grinder, then what do you do do you heat shrink?? or cold shrink it?? very very rearely do we ever use a dent puller on said panles, something this bad is replaced its the better repair, what you want to do is ass backwards and trying to teach y ou online you will @!#$ it up more its not as easy as it looks is it?? to learn this trade is something to be taught hands on, not online
in some cases i had to replace a roof, and deck lid due to the amount of hail, why dont you try PDR give them a chance, why wont you claim on insurance??? let me clear up one thing primer today is not what it was 5 yrs ago, it is not what you think it is, high build primer is corrosion resistant, some product line use a etch prime beneath first, which makes it rust free, yes primer does not have uv protection, but it is tougher then you think it is
"bondo" todays bondo is different then lets say 2 yrs ago, like evercoats filler, it is corrsosion resistant, moisture free, pin hole free, doesnt sag when slung on, bondo can be filler up to 1/4 inch thick and some times even more then 1/4 and not have on problem, it doesnt crack like the old stuff, easier and safer to sand for us, less toxins for us to ingest, evercoat also makes a reinforced filler with kevlar in it, again corrsosion resistant, does not shrink down, i`ll stop there
my point is just reading your post you are clueless sorry but its true, leave it to us pros becasue in the long run if you do this your self and i see your car coming into my stall looking like a 2 yr old fixed it, its going to cost you ALLOT ALLOT more money to have it fixed the right way
can i haz bondo
ty big daddy for your advice, and as far as body work goes, you are right, i am clueless (no deneying that) ill take it to a shop to see what it cost to get fixed, thanks everyone who voiced there opinion
