HID foglights
Saturday, June 06, 2009 5:33 PM
Just hooked up HID's in my foglights and they work for about 20 seconds and blow the 10A fuse....what could be causing this? The balasts have a maximum of 10A each so should i just put in a 20A instead of a 10A? any help would be greatly appricated!

only add a bigger fuse if the wire gauge you are using can support the current

the relay harness would plug into the factory harness, and use the factory voltage as a signal only, this will trip the relay, and pull the draw from the battery.

The start up draw for an HID ballast far exceeds the draw for a standard halogen, which is what the factory wiring is meant for.

ok ....I just tryed putting in a 15A fuse instead of a 10A and it seems to be best kind.... i left them running for like 10 min and kept an eye on everything and it seems to be best kind... when i get a chance i'm gonna hook up a relay harness
