'05 Sunfire Windshield Washer Tank

I filled up my windshield washer fluid this morning and noticed a bit later it's dripping out at a pretty good rate. Can't really see where it's leaking from. I suspect it there was just a small hole I could probably duct tape over it or something, but I suppose I'm better off replacing the tank. Or having it done.

Has anybody replaced theirs? What's the price of the parts? Is it a big job? Something easily done, or better left to someone who knows what they're doing?

Are the 05 ones the same as the 96-01's I see online?

The most probable spot is where the line to the wiper sprayers connects to the tank. It's a 90 degree black rubber fitting that connects to the plastic hose.

Trace the hose from your wipers, it runs along the fender on the driver side, passed the fuse cover, to the front frame of the car, then it goes straight down to the tank. Feel around, I bet you it's leaking there. A zip tie on both ends of the rubber fitting will fix it if that is the cause.

In any case, getting the bumper off is not too hard so you can have a look at it. It's only 4 bolts for the headlights, and then about 6 bolts at the fender, 2 on the crush guard, and 10ish where the bumper connects to the fender liners. Check the line I told you first though, because you might not even need to jack the car up to get a feel down there and confirm if it's the spot thats leaking or not.

You want the black plastic one that is 00-05 to replace it. The older 95-99 wraps around the transmission mount slightly differently... only an issue if you have a manual transmission though. Can't tell what your car is, since your registry is pretty much blank.

I've got the automatic trans. Anybody got a part number for the one i need? I tried searching online and all I could find was the one for the older cars.

It's been a while since I've had time to look under the car. I tried zip ties this morning but that didn't seem to work.

Looks like I'm going to have to remove the bumper, which I'm not particularly looking forward to!
