Ok, so i got my HIDs in the other day, and i go to install them, and i have the 2 piece black projector headlgihts, which fit normal 9006 bulbs just fine. I get everything wired and go to put the bulb in, and it doesnt fit. Wont even go in, at first i think its a 9007 that they sent me by accident, so i order a new pair of 9006 8000k bulbs. Got em, go to put them in, same problem. Turned out after investigating, the HID bulbs 9006 fitting is 7/8" and a normal 9006 is 3/4".... anyone else run into this problem? it seems weird it would happen twice to me if it wasnt actually the case :/
where are you getting the HID bulbs from?
My expirience has been mostly H1 bulbs in the projector headlights for the 95-99, do you have a pic of the rear of the headlight?
i ordered from retro-solutions, and the original one was an older kit i got from Jlenko, neither fit, but a normal 9006 bulb fit just fine. I bored out the socket hole and it fit just fine, but like i said, it was 7/8" not 3/4" like the normal 9006s, it was very strange. and i dont have a pic of the rear unfortunately
Hey Dan, I think the projectors you have are 9005's... not 9006's. I had to bore out the socket hole on my set originally as well... it's been so long, I'd forgotten what I'd done
I've got 9005 bulbs for my HID system in my two piece projectors and they work fine with no mods. The OP got the wrong bulb to sum this thread up
o haha, weird, i guess im retarded then :p i just assumed since it was a 900x bulb that it was the same as stock, o well, it works great now hahahah :p
