I've been thinking about replacing my Rksport SS hood for a hood that would allow the heat to get off my supercharger faster. I've been looking at the INVADER hood, the EXTRACTOR hood, and the EVO hood. Any others I don't know about?
Which hood do you guys think would be the best?
Where is a good place to find one besides ebay?
Anybody have one used? I'm wanting to paint it the same color as my car so it doesn't have to be carbon fiber
Thanks everybody!!
05extremecav- That looks a lot better than I was thinking it would!! Is there a cover u can put over the vents for during rainy season?
Ecotecpower- Don't you have the invader hood? Is the vent over the supercharger?
I like the invader hood, but I'm leaning more towards the evo now though.
HOLY OLD PIC!!! lol Guess I need to put more recent pics of the car in my profile. From what I remember of that hood i dont see it clearing the Charger on our cars. I had to lift my hood latch cause the lowest part of the vent was hitting my rk intake. I have a wings west evo hood now. And it just fits

yep there is a cover that u can take off. holds in with a couple screws. i just always leave mine off lol. just have to wipe down the engine bay when it rains or wash it lol
a wings west evo hood.
good luck finding one though.
Every time I scream "Release", I mean it, you know it. I feel the day. Black 7.
I would stick with the SS hood. Use it as a nice cold air intake system, to make better power.

I just called a company I deal w/ and they have one in stock and takes about a week for shipping
I thought about keeping my ss w/ the intake run the way that I do, but the supercharger builds up a lot of heat. If that heat is able to get off it faster, instead of the hood bouncing the heat back down, the iat's will be reduced more.

From a performance aspect the vented hood is not going to make a difference. The colder air into the intake/charger is where the difference is. For cool down, open the hood. Now you can still make a cold air set-up without the SS hood.

how so? the more u can reduce the heat off the charger the more power it will make! the intakes incoming air will still b affected by the chargers heat it produces. thats why u use a heat exhanger. ur statement of just opening the hood for cool down does almost the same thing with a vented evo hood closed. believe me the m62 is a heat monster!
There is a "radiator" inside the intake manifold and you mount a pump and another "radiator" behind the front bumper.

Not possible. Wings west never made a EVO hood for the 03+ They more than likely have the VIS EVO hood
John- here in texas, there isn't any "cold" air. lol. Whether it's getting the air through the hood or from a cold air intake, the air is going to be about the same temp. With the supercharger holding the heat though, it will increase the iat's if in traffic or anything. These chargers are heat soakers in a heart beat.
Ecotecpower- Yeah, the one I'm looking at is the VIS EVO hood. If you look at VIS and Wings West websites, they look almost identical.
I'll also be modifying my endplate for dual pass.
almost want an evo hood too. not sure where it lines up for the 02 folks.
haven't really paid attention to ecotecpower's pics if he has any w/ the s/c.
my carDomain updated 8/10/09 Forged and no boost
Heres the only pics I have of the charger threw the hood. VIS's hood might look different though

chris iirc the evo for the 02 guys has the opening a lil more forward than the 03+. i know mine was diff than bonnetts
From the looks of the pics. The VIS has more clearance to. If we ran the sensor on top of the charger my hood wouldn't close lol
