Bodywork and paint job
Monday, August 17, 2009 4:47 PM
Whats up people, Im going to be getting some money back from school loans this semester and I was thinking about putting some of that money into my 98 Sunfire. Last year my sister backed up into the one side of it and she is showing some signs of rust in a few places. Im just curious if anyone could steer me in the right direction as far as bodywork and a paint job would run me. Just looking for some ballpark figures and advice thats all. This car has been really good to me and Im hoping it will continue to last me a couple more years before I get rid of it. Here's a couple pictures of the car:

use that money to start paying off your loan or other bills, not waste it on an 11 year old POS.

well i dunno what kind of primer is on that car, but if i was doing the car it would have to come off, if its rattle can crap even worse, fixinig rust is time consuming, and gets very costly, especially if that 1/4 panle has a hole in it, allot of labor invovled in the repairing of rust

yes it can be fixed but its going to be costly, removing all and every part on the car,
R&I HEADLIGHTS
R&I FRONT BUMPER
R&I FENDER LINERS
R&I BODY SIDE MOLDINGS, BELT MOLDINGS, DOOR HANDLES, MIRRORS ON BOTH DOORS
R&I 1/4 GLASS
R&I REAR BUMPER
R&I TAIL LIGHTS
R&I DECK LID PARTS
R&I ROCKER MOLDINGS
depends too if all the panles have surface rust, scratches, door dings, dents, the rust inside the doors are about 5 hours each side, if the 1/4 has a hhole at least 7-8 hours of repair time, not to mention all the paint labor, at least 3-4 days of priming preping, painting buffing

dude it may not be worth the money to do this job the right way so it lasts and the rust doesnt come back a complete job like this would run about 3-4,000

like the dude said it may not be worth it

can i haz bondo
