I know that the 2.2 ecotech has baffles inside the valve cover but I'd like to get mine powder-coated but mine has a significant amount of oxidation on it...what to do?

Dont be a smarta$$...although it is better than being a dumba$$

Sand blast it and powder coat it.

Yeah...you cant sand blast aluminum...bead blast it maybe but I'll end up getting beads inside the baffles and mess it up. I want advice from someone who's done this before. No offense but I've seen some of your previous replies and you seem to be pretty harsh with your responses and short with people. I dont know if you try to sound like you know what you are talking about or you just want to come off as a jerk but you do!!

If you dont want to sand/bead/media blast it then wet sand it. That will remove the oxidation, but will take alot more time. You can flush the baffles out with water. I have even soaked my spare cam cover in a Dawn and water combo to remove some of the oily build up it had.

Look around and see that all of the regulars can be short and come off rude. Myself included. And yes, we do not care It is just when the same questions pop up, peoples answers get shorter and shorter.

Wet sand to remove imperfections, tape what you don't want painted.....go to town.

Well Mike if u dont like that people ask the same questions then dont answer...its that simple. I'm not digging thru the old archives to find that 6 years ago someone asked about he same thing I did. Because quite frankly I dont care either!!! I'm here to inquire about things not argue with people on whether or not they can be a dick. Thank you for those of you who answered without any BS

ive painted (professionally) 5 ecotec valve covers....mask it up as best you can, and SAND blast it and clean it with acetone of something of the sort (dip it if you can). After taht get out the water hose and aircomressor. Run water through it for a good 20-25 minutes, then blow it out with compressed air...Lather rinse repeat, until you are happy with the cleanliness of the inside of it....Then paint it...

This is how the valve cover in the thread, as well as everyother cover i have painted has been done..

How is that for hearing it from someone who have done it before???

For mine I just washed it real good in our parts washer(lacquer thinner) Then sanded it with 220, used our surfacer primer and primed it, took 500 grit and wetsanded the whole thing. Sealed then painted and cleared mine..btw this is not with rattle can. I as well professionally painted it
