Hey guys & girls,
I have a Weapons R intake and an RK Sport SS hood.
The damn thing hits the hood no matter how low i cut the rubber mount for the intake to the throttle body. I think im almost or am sitting metal to metal on it atm.
And to top it off, now the damn thing has gotten in the way so much that the hood is pressing on the tube, and making the tube hit my throttle and hold it at around 2K rpms if i get up to any speeds over 45mph! Its really becomming quiet annoying.

Any thoughts on what to do now or know of a, or i guess it would need a, flatter intake piece to clear my issues here? I think the tube is 3", but replacing the whole intake in general would not bother me.

Have you tried raising your bump stumps along the bumper that the hood sits against when closed? If not it might make a little difference. Though I thought that was a common issue with the ecotecs and intakes. I dunno if motor mounts (if you don't already have em) would help, itll reduce the motor movement obviously but it also might help that speed/rpm problem its causing if it can't hit that part of the hood due to the intake hitting the hood.

Hood bump stops are up high enough so that it doesnt look like the hood is mis-aligned.
I havent had this problem with the hood and the throttle until recently, so now im just peeved with it.
Manta, it hits directly on one of the support beams for the hood, no where near the scoop part, thats up a bit further.
And i'll take a look at the RD Fabs one, it looks to be about the same height in the piece that connects to the throttle body.

I had your issue with my stock hood, but I cut away the rubber like you mentioned and now it sits pretty fine. You have an SS hood so I'm not sure what to tell ya.

Maybe go to PepBoys and an elbow from of of those Spectre intake kits that you piece together yourself.

i ended up cutting the aluminum piece and the rubber piece and it fits ok now,,
