So you can easily find HID headlights on the internet for Cavaliers. But the price gaps leave me to wonder what the quality of the products are. My brother in law bought a pair for his Mustang off of a Chinese website and they were listed for half price, which was still about $100.
I found a pair on Ebay for $49 and was wondering if anyone else has ever bought a pair off there....? It is the same quality, or should I avoid it?
I really like the brightness of the HID headlights for night driving and the color change from the "normal" halogen is pleasant. I don't want to pay the extra money if I don't have to. Let me know!
thanks

I bought both of my HID kits on Ebay for $65/ea
Over a year later and I only had one bulb go out, $12 for a new one...
Hope it helps.
http://www.vvme.com/ $60ish bucks and I've seen 'em in person. Heard mixed reviews but from the ones I've seen in person I've yet to hear a complaint. Ebay its 50/50 you really don't know exactly what you're getting ...
And my suggestion, spend the extra don't be cheap. Hell John's selling a few different sets for a bit more but I've got a set and I love 'em and would buy again. I intend to with the next vehicle. He even sells the digital balast kits.

that's actually the site that my brother in law bought from! I couldn't remember it before off-hand. It's bought $100 with the shipping cost.
Who is John? What does he usually sell for?

John Benham. Ran/Running an HID/Projectors Group Buy in that forum. Highly recommend him. As for his prices, some are listed in his previous and current Group Buy but its best to ask em.

Alright, I'll look into it. I went ahead and bought a pair off of E-bay. If I don't like how they turn out then I'll give John a jingle. I figured that the pair off Ebay wasn't too expensive so I would give it a shot.
Thanks guys!
I'll let you know how they turn out (they shipped today)

When it comes to HID kits, I only trust the brand that I use and sell, which is Retro Solutions. If for no other reason, everything has a lifetime warranty, and they actually stand behind it.
I have a kit on my J, and 2 on my caddy, as well as several local, domestic, and international customers who keep coming back for more. They are a little more $$, but far worth it IMO.
If I wasnt going to use their kit, I would get a xenon depot kit.

How much $$$ are we talking?
I went to the site for the ddmtuning, but I didn't find what I need. I haven't had much more time than to take a quick glance at it so I could have easily missed it. Does anyone have a quick bookmark they could post? Class isn't allowing me to browse a ton at the moment.
Bulb size is 9007, but I'm everyone knows that already

DDMTuning kits look very nice for the money. I saw the Clearance section has a 55w Slim Ballast kit. Does this come with bulbs and everything you need for HID? Does it have hi/lo beams for the single bulb? If so it's only like 60.00 and looks like a great kit but I need hi/lo beams.
"What we do in life, echoes in eternity"
nevermind, you have to change the options on the right hand side its like hidden in all the information. now im just trying to figure out ow to get the time right this forum.

Also, the high/low option for HID only moves the bulb in and out. So, if your housing wasn't designed to work that way it may not make a big difference.

I second this. Chazz turned me onto the pair that I purchased... still kicking strong.
Been awile.
FOR SALE
got mine off ebay like 3 months ago and they are still doing fine took a few days to get fully burned in but they worked out well, single beam no high and to hook my Plug and play up i took the DRLs off
i believe you just take out the DRL fuse in the box inside your door right? that disables your DRLs.
You are right. The DRL fuse in the door panel does disable the DRL's, but it also causes the "Service" light to be constantly on.... and that's a light that I would like to never be on if I can avoid it

then pull out the light bulb that lights up that service light (LOL)....honestly, i know what you mean...i just installed a new wiring harness for my headlights that is heavy duty, and after a few days my high beam light stayed on and the service light. i knew it was my headlights b/c thats the only mod i did. so i checked the wiring, i knew black was ground, but i switched the other ones over. turns out i had the low beam going into the high beams and that was causing the lights to light up. after i switched them i took a sigh of relief that the lights went off. just use the search button here on JBO, make sure you search ALL forums and type in something like, DRL disable and you should get tons of links to start looking at. that is what i always do when i got a problem and it works good....how do you like my new signature...i laughed when i saw yours.
haha a friend of mine did that same thing when he put HID's in his mustang. But they're fixed now as well. I'm not going to just pull out my service light bulb because if there is something that goes wrong, I may not know it before the problem turns serious
yeah I'mma do some research and hopefully find a sure answer soon
haha thanks, I really like that bumper! what style/model is it? do you have a matching back bumper on as well?
