I have a 2004 Cavalier(sedan) with a slightly lighter Orange paint job. My question was whether or not I should consider putting vinyl racing stripes similar to this Cobalt's over the top? What do you guys think? Stripes a go or no go?

It's all up to you really if you like the looks, thats great. Personally I've always been a fan of old school racing stripes though.

for me personally they only look good on the odler cars. they just look out of place on todays cars, but if you like them go for them. id suggest having them painted instead of vinyl though. vinyl will just make the look even cheaper.

by that photo it looks sick. But ive seen it on others and its been horrible. So its hit and miss 50/50 worse case peel 'em off and eat the expense But if YOU like it go for it man. UR car UR money.

That was I was thinking. I'll photoshop it and see if I like it. If I decide that I want them I will proabably go with the vinyl instead of paint though because then I can take it off should the situation ever arise where I want them off. Plus Vinyl is easier and cheaper.

Just don't decide that you no longer want vinyl too far down the road. If you have vinyl on long enough, you'll just have darker orange racing stripes instead of black when you take it off.

yeah, that's what I was thinking. But if I keep my car well-waxed will it solve that problem or just slow the process?

itll slow it, but over time, paint fades whether u like it or not

if u like it go for it, personally not a fan at all though.

It looks decent if done right.

I personally think stripes that stop on the hood and are rounded look better than ones that wrap around to the front bumper.
