Planning on buying a body kit from a 01 Cavi for my 99 Z24, I know the side skirts and rear bumper will fit, I know they changed the headlights in 00+ but what kind of problem will i run into when trying to mount the front bumper to my 99? The kit is a drift kit by bomex. Thanks.

ull end up with a nice gap under the headlamps and cornerlamps. and may be if ur turnsignals were in the bumper u loose them too.
I know I'll loose the turn signals in the bumper, but does anyone think i can fill that hole under the headlights and corner lights without it looking ridiculous? And is that the only spot where things won't line up?

thats were when u go from 00+ front and use a 99 bumper we cut that out. lil fiberglass work n ull be ok. to bad u werent closer id trade u my 99 drift for ur 01 drift.
Yeah, that would be quite i drive, now how big of a gap are we talking about, i thought about possibly fabricating some kind of air duct in the gap, or or we just talking a 1cm gap?

bomex doesn't make a kit called drift... in fact the drift bumper is a whole different bumper style. the actuall drift bumper is made for three different headlight phases of cavaliers.
heres is the bomex style for 95-99 2000-2002 and 03-05 cavaliers
and heres is the drift kit..
you get the idea same style thru out the whole 3 phases.
just look at ur stock bumper and ull see the gap ull have, u see the gap under the hood to the bumper ull have that under the lights then it will curve up to meet the fenders behind the corner marker like 1 inch or soo
ok, here is the pic of the kit i am getting, the guy said it was a drift my bomex, but i couldn't find a drift kit made by bomex either, see the gap you are talking about, but does anyone think the conversion is not do-able?

oh its doable for a fact... been done dozens of times. just get the headlights and the headlight harness to ease the pain of rewiring, oh and dont forget the headlight fender brackets. they bolt into the radiator supports, also you will have to cut the corner light brackets off your 95-99 fenders
Ok, i think i am just going to do the conversion to the newer headlights, and thanks to the sticky and some brain power it sounds like it won't be too big of a pain, thanks

no... PM me if you need some advice... i also did this swap on my 96 cav in my profile.
with the headlight swap you'll need to remove the bracket on the fender and get the 00 + brackets
good news, come to find out, the body kit was made for a 95-99 but the owner modified it to fit his 01, so i just have to cut of his modifications and presto, great body for me!

lol thats not good news... if he modified it to fit his 01 cav. you will still have that gap under your headlights. or do the headlight swap or replace what he cut and trimmed off.
he never trimmed it off, he just fiberglasses the corners of the bumper so it would drop it down some and it rubbed where the healights were a little bit on his car. He only added on and took nothing off.

Ah ok. Guess it works out for you then.
interesting.
So is the kit urethane or fiberglass then?
