Cavalier Projector Fog?

I have the Blazer projectors. My question is for those who have done it is did you just remove the lens and then set it in, or did you just cut and set it? Thanks ahead of time.

I had to do a little more then some cutting. Cut alot lol and Did some welding to the metal bracket on the back as well. If your not trying to mount them behind the stock lens like i did though and are just going to cut a hole in the factory lens and let it poke out, you won't have to do as much cutting and no welding

Here are some pics of my 00 fogs with blazer projectors retro'd into them. wanted to keep the factory look. the down fall for the blazers are, they are made for halogen bulbs not HID.. so the bulb's position is a little difference in the housing, this causes the cut off line to be a little fuzzy. you'll see what i mean

I was thinking about removing the lens, clearing out the hole where the light would normally sit, then slide the projector in. I was also considering doing a lot of cutting and then silicone it shut. Do you have any pictures of the back Steve? I'm trying to go for as close to OEM as possible.

Well, if your going for the OEM looks then you won't like mine, but here's an idea for ya

Alex I wanted to do the same thing as you. I wasn't clear on what I meant by OEM. Have the projector sit on the edge of the outer lense. Is that the same thing steve did? What did you with yours alex? How did you put it together?

I'll get some pics for you probably tomorrow Mike. Basically just cut the lens off the stock fog, cut a hole in the center. Took some material off the stock bracket and used some good ol' JB Weld.
Keep an eye open for some pics of the back.

No mine sit behind the lens, slvrblit's pokes out from the lens. I'll pull the fogs out tonight and get you a pic of back
Here you can see its behind the lens. dont mind the tape, that was just holding the lens on for mockup

I like both ideas! I like the cleanliness of Steves and I like how Alexs shows it off.

I kinda wish mine looked like Stephens! lol.

Got HID's going in mine too, so we'll see how the Blazers hold up

Its alright. This is a tough call now. The first pictures you posted Stephen it looks like the projectors are outside. What you mean about the cutoff line being "fuzzy" is how its kinda out of focus it seems? Does the projector being behind have any effect? Going your route seems safer because it keeps the projector out of the elements. I have hids as well, have either of you had an issue with melting possibly? The projector seems like itll be fine its the lense I'm worried about.

The line is fuzzy because he put a D2S bulb in a halogen projector, so the projector is designed to focus the beam based on a different type of bulb (the point of light emission is slightly different). However, placing a projector behind a factory lens with a prism face can also cause fuzziness in the cutoff line, so it might be a combination of the two. However, I would bet on it mostly being due to the D2S in the halogen housing.

I didn't even think of that. I have another question. Does it matter what side is bottom/top when mounting? Will there be issues with cutoff or does it not matter?

yeah it matters. if upside down your cutout will be on the bottom and all your light will be aiming upward blinding everyone.

Could be fun.

Here is some pics for you Mike. Not the greatest, but you'll get the idea from them

Hope it helps you
