Just finished a VVME 55 watt bi-xenon HID install on a '02 Sunfire, figured i'd post my findings since I found the information I needed here on this site and i have been a member here for years just never ever posted anything
I noticed that these cars use a negative switching system for the bulbs, meaning that the center (common) pin on the bulbs has a constant power source rather than a ground, and that the car will ground the low or high beam side of the bulb.
I also found that my HID kit, even though it had 9007 bulbs, was pre-wired to fit a 9004 setup. I ended up having to switch around the 2 blue wires in the headlight plug (car side) to get the high beams working properly
I also followed the DRL disable procedure mentioned here as well
This bi-xenon kit came with with its own wiring harness with direct connection to the battery, a ground terminal at each end of the wiring harness near the ballasts, a relay pack and a 20A fuse
This kit made an amazing difference to the headlights in the car. The next one i do on a sunfire I will post a better 'how to' with pictures
Thanks.
Could you post as to where you bought this kit
^^^^ LOL that made me chuckle
they make pretty good kits and they are decent price. I think just about $100 shipped for a bi-xenon if i remember right..
my bro-in-law got a kit for his mustang and they worked great. same bulb size as the cav
And now you are reading my signature...great

Hi dear,
I see you have been able to put an hid kit of vvme on your sunfire. I had bought an hid kit last week from they and I want to know what modification did you have to do to the kit to be able to switch high and low bean. Also, I want to know if you have used two relays to convert pollarity of the switch (negative to positive). If you have other information, they are welcome
Thank you very much.
