I purchased a new set of these recently and they seem to be alot stronger than the old ones(other than obvious reasons). Has anyone else used the aftermarket replacments and had issues with it taking more force to shut the trunk? Dont wanna dent it.
You got the hinges too? Or supports? Or what lol.
If it's the hinges, there not a direct bolt in affair at all.

^^ he knows, he has a vert lol.....hes talking about the struts, they commonly go bad.
Sorry no help from me hear Spencer.
try unhooking 1 side to see how it feels with half force. ive not used any aftermarket struts, but i can imagine theyd be more powerful than the 10-15 yr old stockers we're used to.
yeah i tried that with just one new shock, but after just reading the factory service convertible suppliment thats posted, they recommend just replacing one new one and one stock one. So i guess ill dig one of the stockers up.
just put a heavy ass spoiler on it lol.
yeah thats part of the issue im sure, i shaved teh wang.
I must be purchasing the wrong brand (Stabulis) of trunk strut shocks. Replaced the orginals about three years ago, and the replacement set started weakening within a year. Replaced that one last summer and the replacement (less than a year old) are now also getting weaker.
