How to properly Clean Outside of car?

I have a full Turtle Wax Ice kit. I also purchased the Clay Bar kit. Anyways, what do you do first? Do you rinse the car off and then apply the ice clay kit according to steps 1,2,3? Then do you polish the car? Then do you wax the car? Is this the proper steps?

well i need to know what steps to do it in. there are so many different things i use and the back doesnt say when to use them. all i read is that you clay bar before you polish and wax. do you clay bar first, then wash it, then polish, then wax? that is what i am going to do. thanks

I usually claybar while the car is still wet after rinsing. Definitely makes it easier, for me anyways.

and to the OP....at least post these kinds of questions in the newb section so people dont treat you like a total "C U Next Tuesday"

I usually sand mine down with 40 grit to get off the deep down dirt first.

This.
Follow up by scrubbing in some gasoline over the grit marks from the sandpaper...it will give it a nice long lasting shine! Hell, make it go quicker, just dip the 40 grit IN the gas before sanding!

This question is finally over:

Rinse
Wash
Rinse
Clay bar
Rinse
Wash
Rinse
Dry
Polish ( only if needed and I wouldn't do it more than twice a year as it removes a little bit of clear coat every time.)
Wax

Those who don't wash again after a clay baring is stupid IMO.... do you not see the white haze/residual residue left on the car? You are grinding all that right into your clear coat when you go straight to waxing/polishing.
