Hey there,
My first car was a silver 5-speed 2002 Sunfire coupe with a sunroof and power windows & doors and I LOVED that car! I frequented these forums back in the day and they were extremely helpful. I'm in the market for a used car and I'm trying to get my old baby back. I'm looking on websites like kijiji and ebay for the same car (or even the GT edition) but I'm having no luck finding one. If I were to buy a 2000 or 2001 Sunfire could I replace the body kit with the stock 2002 kit? Would it look like a 2002 sunfire if so? Is there any difference between the 2000, 2001, or 2002 body kits?
If I were to go for a 2001 or 2000 make instead would I notice the difference in the car as a whole? Is there any way to find what GM changed in the car in each new release (ie. headlight size, bumper style, ect)?
Is this the best place to post this btw?
Thanks for the Help everyone!
-Mike
00-02 are the same body style/kit
03 is when the change happened. and even then, yes you can probably do it.
My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
the 95-99 Sunfire had the same body style, 00-02 were the same, and 03-05 were the same.
I know the 2001s had an ignition short problem. IDK if any would still be a threat, but it would be a good thing to ask about.

wasnt a short problem and id say almost all of them had the recall done. my car being the exception.
the "short" was actually people in the winter holding down the starter for WAY to long causing the ignition wire to overheat and melt.

"electrical issue", calm down. A car shouldn't do that $%^& either way.
I was just letting the guy know.
Thanks for all the useful help guys!
I think I've actually found a decent 2002 GT that ticks all the boxes I'm looking for
. I prefer the look of the 2002 SE over the GT but I can't turn down that extra performance.
The car's got about 170 k on it, any idea how much life I can get out of this puppy & what I should look out for as it ages?
This site has an AWESOME buyers guide that I checked out and is one of the reasons why these forums are so sweet! Are there any other good posts that a proud new j-owner should look at?

Ah, sarcasm. My bad. Companies annoy me with not owning up to mistakes.
