So im about to do an 00-02 front end swap to my car and im trying to build some nice headlights. I've already taken them apart and painted them which im more then likely gonna do the bottom as well.
But i l just got back form the junkyard an hour ago and i picked up these projectors and i want to mount them inside and there alot heavier then i intended so what would be a good way of mounting these?
Also any tips are greatly appreciated.
sorry if these pics aren't good i just took them and the lighting is rough in here. These are just for size perspective and the mounting bracket it came with.
ahh i didn't think it had that whole section but ill go bak soon and check i dont think i have to worry about anyone taking those headlights now lol
So i guess it needs all that back piece behind it to make the light beam correct? ill go back and get it then post what i got to work with.
Alrightt i shall return!!
Ohh. so it gets into that hmm might have to reconsider this then.
nah i was goin to paint them regardless so they were already apart then i got these at the junkyard they didn't charge me so im not out much if i dont do it lol
Lol I'm taking a guess and saying they might not have charged you because they saw you just took the lens, which they knew didn't have much functionality. haha
Maybe if they see you getting the rest of it and remember that you took the lens they might charge.
this is a lot of work. if i were you I would contact John from the group buys. he does special custom HID kits and they look amazing. the price of junkyards around here, it would be much easier to just go to John and have him make it. but if you can get the parts cheap then go for it, i just know a projector at a junkyard around here would cost me like 200-300 for a set, not worth it.

Make sure you get a Bixenon projector too.
Otherwise youll only have one beam setting.
ya they dont charge much if anything it would be the price of the headlights maybe 25$ each but i dunno if i wanna do this yet i have other stuff to work on this is just a set i have sitting around.
i feel strangly let down by this thread.. i expected more "comical" advise as per the discussion in AG.
o.p:: Give it a go, see if you can get all the parts from the bone yard and fab it up... however, if it falls through, you may still be able to sell em to a JBOer that can finish it... so you may or may not be out money... as a fall back, there is John Benham in the GP section, however, if i remember correctly, he's backed up with real life issues.
there is also sickhids.com ... the owner acted like a giant douche when he was on here, however he does make projectors for our cars... and besides his personality, i have not read a bad review on his company.
i think i found someone to buy these headlights from me so im gonna just get 95-99 projectors off ebay or something it would make things alot easier on me but it would throw my 00-02 front swap out the window yet im fine with that this way i end up with a set of projector headlights for the cost i originally paid for the headlights either way ill add the pics to this thread. thanks for the advice guys.
you have projectors? send me some pics and we can talk.
oh ya lol i was wanting black ones with clear lense tho if i dont come across anything i might still buy those lense off you.
