Ok so i bought a used CF hood from a local guy, and there is a small section on one of the peaks in the hood that looks to have worn through the clear and resin both, right down to the CF itself. My question is, would throwing a light coat of resin on that 1 area help to stop that spot spreading? or will i need to get the whole hood refinished at a body shop?
Yes, usually if the cloth isn't completely exposed, you should be able to lay some resin over it (use epoxy resin)...just feather the edges of the repair area with 320 grit (don't hit the actual weave) so that the new epoxy has something to bite into...wetsand, and clear
