So i go tthe setup from the group purchase a few weeks ago and started install. Has anyone else got theirs on yet? I got most of mine off but looking for an effective way to remove the glue and leftovers. Also it looks like it sets in screwed on channels. ho is everyone stuffing them in there with the glue?
i wish i knew....but i just hope that whoever decides to tackle this can do at least a small write up w pics so i can turn it into a .pdf and include it in my ultimate vert guide
meh, i guess i start taking pics. Ive already removed most of the header seal working on getting the leftover sealant. Gonna try to get some goo gone or the "non-petroleum based adhesive remover" mentioned in the vert GM manual. Oh gotta go buy some butyl tape.
looks like removing the weather strip brackets its the best bet on the sides, going to soak them in adhesive remover and work on them tomorrow.
Just got mine installed, wasnt near as bad as i thought. Gotta stretch these things however. Be prepared to he-man you top latch as the top wont come down to the latch like it did. Hopefully it will compress enought to make that go away for the most part. Im going to have to lube the strips with weatherstrip lubricant because the windows tend to grab it and roll it up at the edge of the windows. But other than that the windows sit in the sealing channel nicely and looks a ton better! Dont forget to replace the butyl tape along the top edge of the seal.
