Ive noticed after I had removed the factory racing stripes, every time the car gets wet you can see exactly where the stripes were, anything I can do to alleviate this? Thanks
I guarantee you your cav didn't come with factory racing stripes.
well i am the second owner, so its possible. I dont know whats on the car if i spray it down w the hose, you can def see where the stripes were. sucks.

actually the 2005 cavalier ls sport special edition did come with stripes.
It would probably take quite a bit of elbow grease, but i'd try using rubbing compound. There is probably residue from the stripes adhesive still left on there..
throw a little mequire's fine cut cleaner on a dual action buffer. that will take care of everything.

Mine did
It was a "Special Edition" that some of the 03-05 cavs had that was a dealer thing. So I guess no from the factory per-say but they do come from the dealer like this.
just wax it. maybeeeeee use some polish on it with a D/A polisher, dont go compounding it there is no need. if you havent waxed the car there is your problem...
mmmm dealer rice

I would go over the residue with some WD40 on a towel first. Use some elbow grease and really rub the WD40 on there. Give it a good wash and then use a clay bar. The clay bar should have no problem taking the residue off and it won't hurt the paint. Lastly, apply a good coat of wax to protect the freshly clay barred paint.
