aftermarket racing stripes
Monday, October 11, 2010 12:31 PM
my frineds car (2005 LS Sport) had factory racing stripes on her car, she was in a wreck, so bodyshop replaced the stripes(hood only), she liked how mine looked without the stripes so she wanted me to take hers off, so I took all the others off except the hood, no problem, now i get to the hood, and it is a royal PITA to get these off, Im getting a little bit off at a time, very frustrating, any ideas how to get these off without spending 3 days peeling? thanks,
BTW, if you want to know if your car came with factory stripes (when you take them off, theyll have a black backing on the stripes as opposed to aftermarket where its just the color of the stripe underneath)

Try a blow dryer to heat it up first? I'm by no means an expert but I have heard that it helps. Good luck.

Hair dryer, patience, and a sore thumb; finished off with some 3M adhesive remover (the best IMO, dealership stuff) or goo gone........the slower you go the easy it will come off as a whole..

Believe it or not. Turtle Wax Bug N Tar takes a lot of the residue left behind off.

Don't use a hair dryer get a heat gun. They are not the same thing.

This, But be careful. The paint could burn and bubble real quick.

This. Your silver cav came with stripes on it didn't it? I just used a hair dryer and it worked fine, but I wish I would've had one of those eraser wheels for all of the residue.
