Looking at purchasing some HID's for my 96 4-door Sunfire. According to the Sylvania Lamp Replacement Guide, I have 9007 lightbulbs for low and high beams. Looking on the DDMtuning.com site and found the HID Kit Slim Ballast (35W or 55W). To start off with is this the kit I need? Now to the options. To start with the wattage, I probably will stick with the 35W, unless you all change my mind. The bulb type, looking at the 9007, what's the difference between this and the Hi/Lo option? Do I need a HID harness, or the error eliminator? Thanks for any help.

Also what else will I need to make this work? Do I need to disable the DRL's?

Disable the DRLs, I didn't do mine at first and I blew a ballast in 10 minutes. Also, in a stock housing, I'd recommend going 35W, thats what I've got and they're plenty bright. Also, 55Ws will scatter light like a mofo.
As for the 9007, thats one bulb that functions as your high and low beams, honestly I don't even use my highs anymore, but thats because I've got the 3000K kit in my fogs and my highs are halogen bulbs, so 2 sets of HIDs are WAY brighter than the halogens. But personally, if you're not upgrading your foglights I'd spend the extra couple bucks and go high/low.
And you won't need the wiring harness if you get them from DDM. I'd recommend the slim kit (the ballasts are half the size/weight of the normal ones, which makes mounting 100x easier).

Hope that helps man. And definitely look at and follow the instructions in the link/sticky in the post above mine. Its a life saver.

Your wrong in that aspect. You will need a wiring harness for any HID kit. There have been many lucky people running without them but there have also been many that have admitted to frying their stock wires on a 35w kit. SO if you want to listen to the lucky people and risk causing a lot of damage to your car and possible burning it to the ground skimp out on the 15 dollar harness. But when you do burn your car up post pics so we can all laugh at your dumbass.
OP
As for the error eliminators they are made for cars that tell you that you have a bulb out and I don't believe the cav has that problem at all. The harness is a must its 15 dollars so don't skimp since your already getting them dirt cheap. The hi/low is just a magnet that changes the angle of the bulb to give you your brights back. So if you never used them and do not need them for an inspection you won't need them. I do suggest that you aim the lights down to avoid blinding people.

I agree. You will for sure need the wiring harness. I have seen to many people go the cheap way without it and regret it. However, know that if you get the 55w hi/lo kit from DDM, you won't need to order a harness because it is built in to the kit they will send you. If you buy the 35w, you will need to order the harness. You won't need the error eliminator. One last thing. I have an 04 and used their diagram for the 9007 and it is backwards. I am not sure about your car, but I had to switch the red and white wires from what they said.

This is a Chevy wide problem for them. Had to do the same thing on my Silverado when I did them.
OP if you find they don't work swap the wires and you will be good to go. Also I would just stick with a 35w kit the 55w is a little over kill and cops will start to hassle you since they are a lot brighter. Keep in mind every single state has a law against HID on any car that did not come form the factory with them so minimize your chances of getting busted.

So with the DDM setup the other thing I need to do is get clear lenses right? Who sells these?
