Returning JBO member...new Sunfire project

Hi JBO guys/girls...I was an active member back about 5 years ago when I had my first Sunfire project (brand-new 2004 1SA manual). I've been away from the J-Bodies for a long time and just had the opportunity to get another Sunfire, this one's a beat-up 2003 1SB automatic with Sun and Sound package. It was vandalized pretty badly and I just had the glass replaced. It's off to the body shop next week for a new rear quarter panel, passenger's door, fender, front bumper, and full respray. Attached are a few pics of my former Sunfire, plus a few pics of the "new" one. I look forward to coming back to JBO and sharing the progress of my car!

wow, the old sunfire was nice.

hopefully you can make the new one just as nice, cuz it's looking pretty sad in it's current state.

welcome back!

Sorry for the FB pics...in the future I'll host them somewhere else. I have exactly one pic of my old Sunfire with the 18's (right before I sold it):

I miss it! It was sick!!

Your old fire is really nice! Nice work with that one.

New one deff needs some work, any plans or just restoring it?

I gotta agree with the others, the old one was pretty pimp.

Where did you get those "eyelids" or did you make them yourselves

Thanks for all the positive feedback on the old car! I have a GTI VR6 that I'm working on as a "project" so for now the Sunfire will just be a nice daily driver. Fresh paint, new wheels, tint, maybe a bit of a suspension drop.

Allen--the carbon fiber eyelids, Pontiac emblem, rear filler panel were all from RKSport.

I've also done the HID headlight conversion/DRL disable on the "new" Sunfire. Looks badass!

If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for the new one.

I didn't pay anything for it! I've known the former owner and the car since it was new. She was going to send it to the junkyard...
So far I've spent $550 on glass, $250 on a rear quarter section, $100 for a fender and door, and another $50 or so on miscellaneous trim. The HID's I had laying around from another car.

It's going to cost me around $1,500 for the bodyshop to do their thing, so I'm hoping to have a complete car for right around $2,500. Not bad for a car with just 60,000 miles on it!
