Removing 03 sunfire spoiler

Anyone have a sunfire where they took off the back spoiler? jw what it would look like with no spoiler on it, bc i dnt really like the look of the spoiler right on the back window

i'd say 2/3 sunfires on hear have them shaved or where shaved lol.....its just the way it should be.

Here is mine,Wish GM never installed the spolier...Also gary what did you guys use or do to make the smooth rear where the plate was,I want one..let me know ..Thanks.

ok, so basicaly jsut take it off and then weld up the holes, then grind down and primer then paint?

ok so weld some sheet metal on the bottom of the trunk, then fill the hole with bondo sand it down and then primer, paint and clear coat it? would that work????

I cheated and just put plugs in and sealed them as a hold ever. Looks good until closer inspection :p cause i've lost the desire to do it right.

shaved is the only way to go. I hate that stock spoiler with a passion. If you do the welding yourself, look up some auto body techniques. The thin metal on these cars warps very easily.

if you remove the spoiler do you have to rig up a third brake light in the rear windshield or something?

Gotcha. ill have to look into that b/c my spoiler need to go! Sunfires have the worst spoiler ever invented.

Find a cav or fire in a junkyard w/o a spoiler and get the rear deck out of the back window.
