I drive a 1998 cavalier and I just installed 2 3000k HID bulbs in my 9005 (high beam/DRL).
Question 1 - Was that a good idea/safe?
Question 2 - Do i need to disable my DRL's since they don't work now anyway?
Question 3 - Do i need to install a relay harness?
Question 4 - If i do, is this a relay harness?
Question 1 - Was that a good idea/safe?
I dont like HID's in high beams because the ballsts take time to warm up....time that you have NO lights until they do.
Question 2 - Do i need to disable my DRL's since they don't work now anyway?
I would, NEED, no.....but I would
Question 3 - Do i need to install a relay harness?
I ALWAYS recomend a relay harness
Question 4 - If i do, is this a relay harness?
NO, there is no relay, that is just a pigtail.
So would
this relay harness from DDMtuning work. ( Are relay harnesses universal or do i need one specific to the 9005 bulb)
that is not the right harness...
This is the one that you would need.
Thanks, just ordered it. Hopefully it will be here soon.
i would actually recomend a "bi-xenon" wiring harness wired to allow your low beams to stay on when you turned your high beams on, that way you have light while waiting for your ballasts to warm up......
