Hey guys. I have searched and I cant find anything. I even went to GMPartsdirect.com and it only shows the components. I need a breakdown of everything and where it goes. I am doing a front 03+ swap on my car, and I need to know where things go. I have the absorber and the left bumper bracket, and thats the killer, since I have no clue where it goes (the bumper bracket not the L shaped bracket). I have more coming in from another member, and I cant figure out where it goes. So if anyone has a breakdown of where the parts go and such, if you post up the link and such that would be great. Since I pieced this together, and didn't get this off a junk car, I haven't got a clue to where things go. Thanks guys!!!!
save yourself the trouble and just buy my car...
hahha as tempting as it sounds, ill stick with mine hahaha. so you decided to sell her huh.
Pic of said "bumper bracket"? What are you considering the "L" bracket?
You should have the foam absorber, which obviously goes on the front of the impact bar. Then you should have 2 "L" brackets that bolt to the top of the impact bar, directly to the inside of each headlamp. The bumper is secured here via a screw in each side, that is then covered by the removable grill piece with the bowtie emblem.
Then you have a bracket on each side of the car to secure the bumper/fender area. One end is like flat stock with a slight bend in it, has 2 (or maybe 3) threaded holes on it, which will lay inside the bottom fender lip, your bolts pass up through the bumper, through the fender, and thread into that plate. The other ended of that bracket is connected by a bar, and bolts against the inner fender/chassis. These two brackets aren't quite identical, one is angled differently for clearance around the airbox bung/washer bottle neck. Just have to fit it to see which side is which.
The two brackets next the headlamps and the 3 bolts on each sides fender/bumper are you main points for fastening. The only other points of securing the bumper are the plastic wheel well liners, which wrap under the bottom of the bumper (which I think is the same as 00-02 but I'm not sure)
I can take some pics, but it won't be til fri/sat sometime. Hope that helps
yeah, decided it was time... Not sure what im going to get though.. liking the Genesis coupe but not digging paying over 25 grand for one. I might start a thread asking for the org's opinion on cars in my range.
GREENROCKSTAR: Im sorry to hear you getting rid of ur J. The Genesis coupes are very nice, but yeah way over priced. But then again, you get what you pay for. So you get really good quality and a great little car. Goodluck tho, on whatever you decide.
Evil: I *think* im getting those L shaped brackets for the top of the bumper, but im getting it from another member so im not 100% sure what he is sending me. I bought the foam guard today, but it has no holes in it, so im guessing on that one as far as mounting. The bumper bracket is
this and I only have one. Which is the drivers side, I dont have the passenger side yet. When I get the package from JTMS ill order whatever I dont have. And go from there. If you can take some pics EVIL for me, that would be flipping great, especially since im lost on what your talking about. But if I can see them mounted/installed then ill have a better idea how it goes and can figure it out from there. Thanks man. And yeah, fri/sat would be fine since im gonna try and get this together by sunday, or maybe next weekend. Either way, with pics ill be able to figure everything out from there. Thanks alot man, I do really appreciate it. Trying to go to junk yards are a waste of time, since they all have the fronts gone on them. I did find one bumper there, but all the under parts were gone lol. Thanks again man! If anyone else has a drawing, or a breakdown with the lines that connect everything that too would be great also! thanks again guys!

I have no idea what that bracket is, lol...I've seen it on ebay before actually, but honestly dont think its on the car...unless it slips over the impact bar behind the foam or something, but i know it definitely isnt for a mounting point. I'll have to double check. I know the one junkyard near me has a few 03+ models right now, that probably still have a lot of what's needed...once you get whatever you are getting from another member, i might be able to find the missing pieces for you
Mike, I just figured out what those brackets are that you have link to!
I was pulling off the fender on my sedan to repair it, and saw that is the bracket that holds on the steel bumper/impact bar that the foam crush guard rests on. I don't believe that you will need them, as you don't do anything with the steel bumper on front end swaps other than swap the foam guard.
ahhh ok so then i wont need that or the other one lol oh well only paid 4 bucks new for it so no biggie. yeah im waiting on JMTS ECO to send me what he has and we can go from there lol thanks man.
