with my 95 cavalier, i took my tail lights off to smoke them ( the outside half) and i can not for the life of me get them back on. I took the 3 pathetic cheap nuts off the back to take them off but they don't fit back on. What am I doing wrong?

The only thing i can think is im using the wrong nuts to try to reattach, but i was almost positive it was those little lame tin nuts. But even if its not them, I tried every nut that i have taken off so far and none fit. Is there a cap or something that goes over the bolt on the back of the tail light housing to widen it up? im at a lost...

please help, I know this is so simple but im losing my mind over it.

Yes its the cheap tin ones, sometime you have to man handle them a bit to get them started.

hmm, alright well ill try again tomorrow. They just seemed way to loose.
