what color are you going for?
im gonna do a gloss black and then clear it
Pic in your sig is that final result, or photoshop?
nah thts just the way it looked, in the shade the whole car looks black
I think i would have left it alone, or paid someone to do it. But no no to rattlecans.
Cmon mang. I used to live less than a half hour from UNOH. Gotta rep the middle of nowhere J-Bodies better than that. Hahaha.
Actually know a few folks going there currently.
For a rattle can job it looks decent so far. I'm interested in seeing the finished product.
I go to UNOH too. I've seen your car around campus.
theyellowcav- i didnt know you were on here we need to hang out sometime...as for everyone else who is against it im curious to see. i dont really care much because i bought the car for 1500 and just wanna have some fun. have any of you ever done a rattlecan paint job? i dont mean to brag but im pretty good with them
You can be great with them, but the paint just doesn't hold up to the elements.
Once i had a plymouth acclaim that was given to me. I rattle canned the entire car flat black and taped off a think neon pink stripe. got some cheapo chromy-wheel covers and put on some neons that were laying around. 60 for paint, 20 for hubcaps, and 5 to wire the lights, it was an improvement. Definitely not to be done to a good car, but when you know the car is a year or less from the scrapper why not right? It became a 20 ft car. From the end of the parking lot it was nice, but def not something to brag about. I can understand why someone who wrecked their car, rebuilt, and while still in college would do this. I only plan to keep my Cav running for another year hence the Sharpie Project. PROPS for diving in. My ish pain job gave me respect for a good one.

Yeah, we should, it's hard to find something to do in lima, lol.
I'm using rattle cans to touch up some spots on my car. Don't think I'd do an entire car with them though.

Other than satin black I wouldnt suggest it. It wont lay on even and will look crappy. I do agree some spots can be fixed, at least for a while, with the spray can. I spray canned my spoiler on my vert last summer and other than the imperfections from that not so smooth sanding job you cant tell the difference color wise.
Yo dudes im down the road in the A-D-A goin to ONU haha if it wasnt end of the year id come down and chill too. i got some rust spots startin and i think im gonna try to sand and rattle can them but im not sure yet
Almost all done with primer! gotta finish some body work on the driver side and then it will be ready for color. im rather excited.more pics to come

Thanks for the support, i just figured if it doesnt turn out tht great....its still only a 1500 dollar car.
Make your pics bigger yo! from what i can see the primer layed down smooth. good luck with the rest of the project man ive always had a soft spot for rattle can jobs :]
haha thanks, it did lay down very well and after wet sanding its extremely smooth...i just want to do what everyone else is afraid to do
Well its all painted and now i only have to sand, clear, then sand again and buff it....im thoroughly excited
Ready for clear coats, probabaly some time next week
maybe if the pictures posted were of a decent size i could comment better
