Hello all,
Thought I would post up a pic of the 3/16" x 5/8" (doubled up) universal tack strip installed. My original was cracked in many places.

The rivets are 1/8" in diameter and 1/2" deep. This was shown in the Cavalier/Sunfire 1995-2000 Convertible Top Installation Instructions video. Good video.

The video does not mention this but the rear body molding won't sit flush once you are done. So when I got finished I ended up with this. I followed video instructions step by step so I never test fit the molding before putting the top on. Apparently the original tack strip had a cut out for the bulkhead on the back side of the molding to fit into. If I were to do this again I would have fit all that molding onto the car before putting the top on and made corrections as needed. I hope my mistake will help others. I was not able to find any threads anywhere on installing the universal tack strip.

But other then that the video did a great job explaining the procedure.
