GREAT IDEA !!!!! I wonder, how many bricks each person in the US would have to donate in order to build a viable wall allong the Mexican boader that could be defended and patroled easily. I think we should look to the great wall of China for inspiration.

I don't think the desired effect is because of the wall so much as it is the gunmen and razor wire on top of them.
Great Wall of China: picketed with bowmen and foot soldiers.
Berlin wall: Check points, gunmen, Concertina wire, land mines
Wall in Israel: glass, walls, checkpoints, patrols.
Why do they not all work?
They're not staffed daily, and they are not impenetrable.
If a 30 ft deep, 18-30 ft tall, some 4000 mile long wall can't halt an on coming horde, what good do you think a brick and mortar contraption is going to do against a few hundred determined people?
What do you want to bet that after 3-4 miles they either give up, or hire a flock of illegals to get the job done?
