My what short memories the org has.
Tuesday, April 25, 2006 2:11 PM
So its been a couple weeks since Saint died and one week since anyone posted in his thread and I see no memorial on our home page. What happened? I know for a fact several submissions were made and yet our home page still pays homage to the SEMA show from 2005. What gives? Everyone was so gung ho to put something up for him we all talked about doing it and ...................... nothing. Frankly I'm surprised as hell that
anyone even still has a yellow ribbon or message for Saint in their sigs anymore.

We all had such good intentions and it appears they are starting to fall by the wayside.
Well I would like to refresh your memories and ask why isn't there a memorial up for him yet? Or if not just for him how about all those who have died over there. Its the very least we can do to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so we may all enjoy the freedoms we take for granted every single day.

Lock this if you want but I won't forget that you promised Saint a memorial and I'll ask every week if need be where it is.

Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.

If submissions were made, it's up to Dave to replace SEMA, not us.

I keep him in my sig and will do so for a long time.

Rest In Peace, Saint.

My inbox begs to differ. I got one submission, but it wasn't very well written. My instructions were clear, if anyone is a good writer, write something up that is not too long, and email it to me. Either everyone was too lazy or didn't think they could write, would be my guess.

Well I got a copy of what Gam wrote and it didn't seem bad.

Either that or just keep it simple. Post his picture with a flag for the back ground and below it put his birth and death dates and then something to the fact of " We Will Never Forget " Sweet and simple yet very meaningful. What do you think?

Glad to see some people stepping up. Guess I just needed to light a fire under our colective butts.

I gave my idea.

Ok, I did eventually find what he wrote, but he PMed it to me, instead of emailing it, and my PMs just get lost in the mix. I'll wait till the end of the day to see if anyone else submits anything, otherwise I'll put up what GAM wrote with just a couple minor changes, since obviously the memorial service, etc already took place, and they hadn't yet when he wrote it.

If anyone else wants to throw their $.02 in, please do so now. Otherwise I'll have what I've got now up by the end of the day.

I know hes not the first person from the org to die but as far as I know hes the only one whos died serveing his country in combat and there by died for us all. No matter what the pollitics of the war are we can not forget that the troops who fight and die over in that sand box are there because they love this country to the point that they are willing to die for it. Saint did that and so far noone else here has had to give his life so we may continue to enjoy ours. So yes where others have died and others will continue to die none have done so for all of us and THAT is the reason that Saint should have a memorial. We knew him, We laughed and argued with him, He was one of us and now he is gone and it because of his sacrifice that we can contiue to laugh and argue here at all. Not to belittle any of the other members that have died but they did not do so in a hostile forign country so far from the ones they loved sent there in the hopes of what they do over there will make the world a little better of a place for us all to live in.

Death is death but how you die is very important. Saint will be remember as a hero not as a speeder or accident victim. See the difference?

Try this.

he-ro n. pl. he-roes A person noted for feats of courage of nobility of purpose, especilly one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life. ex. soldiers and nurses who were heros in an un popular war.

Now unless your meaning you won't remember him as a sandwich then you lost me.

if you are an english major you should know that "If I can be of assistance to the process" is a dependent clause, and to connect a dependent clause to an independent clause you need a comma. therefore, the sentence should read:

"If I can be of assistance to the process, somebody let me know how I can contribute."

heh, just sayin

Gut to be safe I posted the definition.
