I am wanting to buy a 95 z24. Its an automatic and it runs smooth. I am just curious what things too look out for on
a 2.3 quad4 in those (i.e. head gaskets, alternators, water pumps, @!#$ like that). Thanks in advance for your help in advance. oh yah it has just a hair over 100,000

watch out for headgasket...it its already been replaced then there shouldnt be a problem..but the ORIGINAL head gaskets werent too great...everything else should be pretty stout

Well I bought it. I forget how much better a gm transmissions grabs gears better than a honda transmission.
So whats faster any ways? 95 z24 auto or 99 z24 auto. just curious.

99 Z24 is definitely better but hey... you work with what you've got.

The 2.3 in the 95 was updated to the 2.4 for 96. In 99, they fixed some lingering issues such as the always-failing water pump and got rid of the EGR, among other things. So that's the best year to buy in that style of bumpers/lights.
