Yeah, so periodically when I first get in my car to drive, my gauges, (speedo and tach) like to freak out. Usually my speedo doesnt work at all or it reads 30 mph when stopped (70 when im going 40 if you didnt figure that out). My tach just reactly started freaking out. It reads inaccurate also, reading about 3500 when the car is idling. I think it has something to do with the extreme 110+ tempuratures here in Vegas because it seems to only does it when I first drive it for the day after its been sitting in the sun for hours.
Has anybody ever had a problem with this? I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier 2DR if helps or matters.
So nobody else has seen this problem in the past? Its really annoying me... Thought it would go away but it didnt...
My gauges would go crazy on me when I moved my battery to the trunk.
I found out it was a bad ground at the battery ( I didn't sand down the paint)
Bring that bish back to the dealer if its under warranty
Have you ever removed the needles for any reason? Installed an aftermarket gauge face or some such thing?
brandon george (lazy ecotec)
- I havent move or altered anything so i dont think this would be it. Although i do believe it might be a wiring issue but i have no clue where to begin to look as i have not changed anything.

- no i have not removed the needles or anything. I first thought it was doing it because of the heat here in vegas but i shortly noticed that it would be doing it at night also when its cool like 70 degrees....
