i did my suspension today and my uncle and i were wondering cause the goldlines are so low that when we put them together the spring wasnt completly tight. it wasnt under any tension, is this the way they should be?
we put the mount on and tightened them and it wasnt really under any tension at the bottom of the strut. after we cleaned the bearings and everything and put them back on exactly as we took them off.
the ride is pretty good a little bouncey but nice compared to the blown ones i took off lol
tokico under goldlines
If it's bouncy, that means you need new struts. It shouldn't be bouncy.
There's no problem with the spring not being under pre-load. That's the nature of lowering springs. You just need to ensure that your struts are properly matched to them so there's no risk of them rebounding enough to unseat themselves.
i think im not use to having the strut/shoch absorb the bumps it seem really nice to drive.
the spring were slightly used but the tokico were brand new.
to bad the stupid roads here really suck! when i cruise it feels like the i hurting the whole car.
i have a bad toe out problem so i'll be getting it aligned asap
thanks weasel
