Alright so my addco rear sway bar finally came in. Looked at the crappy instructions and have searched around here and found some directions on teamforwardmotions website. My question is since that tutorial was created has the installation process changed at all? I have the 25.4 mm sway bar part number 2081U if that helps out at all. The reason why i am unsure is that the bolts connecting the angle bracket look alittle bigger than the 3/8 drill bit. Any help would be appreciated.

Well that explains the reason why this wasnt going as planned. Thank you for the pictures they are of great help.

if ya need any more help you can try me on AIM or Yahoo
You stole my pic!!!!!!!
J/K, glad my pic is of help.
My photobucket page, at the bottom of my post, has some of my Addco rear installed. Also, Wild Weisel has a great write up concerning this very topic on his site, google for it.
I only have a minute so ill make this fast. I have two questons, what amount of ft lbs of torque do i need to apply to the bolt that holds the shock to its mount? The other one is related to suspension but not the rear sway bar. What are the three bolts at the top of the strut mount supposed to be torqued to if at all? Never got to install that portion of my suspension. Any help would be appreciated.
One other thing...i did find Wild Weasels site it was down for some reason though.

Sorry guys.
My ISP screwed up and I've got no service until late tomorrow at best.
One thing you can do also... in that pic it shows the bolt top to bottom if you reverse it it won't sit quite so low... Less chance of catching something.... Just an idea that I used when I did mine...
Knowledge about everything and yet an expert of nothing!!
Jack of all trades.
catch what? if your running over @!#$ that hits the endlink, you need a truck because you will be off-roading!
Does this make that much a difference? Should I install it since I am going to be adding air ride in the next 2 weeks. If not this thing is for sale!
With a mechanical suspension, it definitely makes a difference. Not sure if it's recommended for air bags, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. It probably would depend on how the air-ride mounts (no personal experience, so I can't say for sure).

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.
Ok then this bar is for sale!
ummm.... It doesn't matter what suspension you have a swaybar will almost always be an improvement. I can garuntee you that you'll like the bar.

Just a quick question, do I have to do anything special after I pull the bolt out thats holding the bottom of the shock? Will it stay there no problem or what? And did anybody do this with the car sitting on the ground or would you recommend it be jacked up? Sorry about the noobie questions don't know much about suspension.
You gonna need to take the weight off the rear of the car. So your gonna have to at least jack up the rear of the car. Makes it a hell of a lot easier to install.

thanks, how bout the shocks, do I have to worry about them slipping out during the install when i remove the bolts?
They are attached to the car in the shock tower (through the trunk), they are not going anywhere if you take the lower bolt out.
Thanks a lot, like I said I don't know that much about suspension, so I appreciate you taking me seriously. Probably going to do it tommorrow.
Don't worry man, any bolt you take off with the bottom end of the susp you can put back in with out any headaches. A rear sway bar is sinch to install. Keep asking Q's and post pics if you can, if you still need some help.
I have to admit at first I was worried too about the shock also....but after I did it the next time would be a breeze with enough WD-40 on that bolt. lol.
It's a shame our cars didn't come with them from the factory.

How does the car handle with a rear bar that big, do you also have the Addco 26mm front bar? I have a 2000 Z24 with Tein Super Street coilovers, Vibrant front & rear strut braces and sway bars are my next mod and I'm not sure which bars to get the Eibach kit with the 26mm front/ 22mm rear bar or the Addco 26mm front & rear bars. Right now my car has a 22mm front & no rear bar and it pushes badly in corners at speed, I prefer a neutral handling car and I want the car to turn instead of push.
So which setup will work best on a daily driver?
2000 Z24 5spd header & catback for now.
I have a 22mm rear bar that is up for grabs, PM me
