I've never seen plastic ones...All the shops around here (Hamilton) have the aluminum ones.

Or you could e-mail a place like tiretrends.com and ask them. <br>

I've never heard of any issues with the plastic ones.

I've got plastic ones on my wheels and aluminum ones on my rotors.

Click my sig. If you've got aftermarket wheels, you need them. Many people just don't know that so they go without.

Hubcentric rings fill in the gap between the hub on your car and the hub opening on your aftermarket wheels. Plastic ones are not good because they can become distorted and cause vibrations just like running without them can. Here's one place you can get them...
Discount Tire Direct's auctions for aluminum hub centric rings
Did you ever notice when you take on/off the original wheels from your car the center opening on the wheel fits tightly around the center hub of your car? That is how it is supposed to be so that the hub supports the weight of your car, no the wheelstuds. The wheelstuds are only designed to hold the wheel onto the hub. On aftermarket wheels, the center opening is larger than the hub on your car so that the wheels can fit a lot of different cars. It's easier and more cost effective to just make small rings to mate specific wheels to specific cars than to make each whell specific fit to the car. A lot of people who buy new wheels/tires complain of vibrations at speed and always think it is them being out of balance, but 9 times out of 10 it is the lack of hubcentric rings. Because of the lack of hubcentric rings, the weight is supported by the wheelstuds. and it's actually the wheelstuds flexing and the wheel's position on the hub moving thats causing vibration. So you use metal hubcentric rings to fill the space between the hub and the hub opening on your new wheels. Plastic hubcentric rings are no good for obvious reasons, would you want your wheels bolted onto your car with plastic lugnuts/bolts? No, so you shouldn't have the weight of your car sitting on plastic hub rings either. Most major wheel retailers/installers should know what hubcentric rings are and should include them in your purchase of new wheels. But you'd be suprised how many people have gone into a Pepboys or Sears, asked for hubcentric rings and just gotten a puzzled look from the kid at the counter. If that happened to you, go home and call or email Discount Tire, or Tire Rack, and just make sure to tell them what wheels you have, what car they're going on, and to make sure that they're metal rings you're getting.
